ABOUT THE ROLE
At Patriksson we're innovating influence all over the modern landscape of media and communication. Our Group Commercial Director (GCD) will be responsible for continuously developing and executing our business strategy with respect to our overall business objectives and development plans. The role is headquartered in Stockholm, with connections to and work for our offices in Copenhagen, Oslo and Paris.
The role involves overseeing business growth, sales, marketing, and client relations. The GCD plays a key role in identifying new market opportunities, driving revenue growth, and enhancing our market position. At the heart of the role lies the lever in developing our strategic, creative and technological capacity in order to make us more unique and resilient as an agency, and less focused on one type of offering or client.
The role belongs to the Patriksson Communication arm of the Patriksson Group, including our offices in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo and Paris. The GCD is based in our Stockholm headquarters, and part of the local management team, and is also responsible for a few key clients in order to have direct contact with some of our most important business partners – with the intention to lead by example, learn from frontline interactions, and foster strategic partnerships.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive commercial strategy aligned with the company's overall objectives. Provide leadership and direction to our sales, marketing, and business development activities.
Business Development: Identify new business opportunities, cultivate relationships with potential key clients, and negotiate high-value contracts.
Revenue Growth: Drive sustainable financial growth through boosting sales and forging strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
New business: Oversee new business development and processes, ensure that our focus is in line with the overall strategy and that we maintain a healthy pipeline of prospect clients.
Marketing: Develop and implement a marketing strategy and annual plans. Work closely with the marketing team to ensure that we are being seen and heard in the right way in the right places.
Client Relationship Management: Oversee client relations and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. Develop strategies to retain existing clients and develop their business with us.
Market Analysis and Trends: Monitor industry trends and market conditions to inform strategic decisions. Analyze competitors and identify areas for differentiation and growth.
Team Leadership (TBD): Lead and mentor a high-performing business focused team. Ensure that the team has the resources and skills needed to achieve their objectives.
Collaboration and Integration: Collaborate with other C-suite executives and local MDs to integrate commercial strategies with the company’s operational, financial, and technological objectives.
Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular reports on strategy development, performance, activities, market trends, and challenges to the CEO and Group Management Team.
REQUIREMENTS
- A Master of Science (MSc) or equivalent degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of eight years of experience in a leadership or significant managerial role, preferably within a creative agency or an equivalent position on the client side.
- Demonstrated excellence in building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Exceptional leadership skills underscored by a coaching mentality. The ideal candidate will have experience in mentoring and developing teams, fostering a positive and productive work environment, and leading by example to inspire others towards achieving excellence.
- A proactive "can-do" attitude and a commitment to collaborative work practices. Candidates should exhibit the ability to work seamlessly with teams across different offices and cultures, emphasizing mutual respect, open communication, and a shared vision for success.
