JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a visionary Senior Art Director to elevate the creative impact of our projects. In this role, you will shape and lead creative development, actively engaging with clients to refine project scope and expectations. You’ll not only drive conceptual direction but also produce and oversee visual work across digital, social, video, and print channels, embedding the client’s brand and products within a crafted visual language.
You will forge strong, seamless collaboration across departments, blending strategic insight with hands-on creative execution to deliver work of exceptional quality. The ideal candidate is detail-obsessed, aesthetically sharp, skilled at building partnerships, and capable of both inspiring and guiding the team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop creative concepts and communication strategies in partnership with the Creative Lead, Brand Director, and client teams, translating ideas into innovative visual assets and storytelling across channels.
- Manage projects from initiation to completion, leading the creative work through conceptualization, execution, and production with support from the Creative Lead and project management.
- Direct design to ensure consistency and quality across all visual outputs, including new business opportunities and client projects.
- Produce visuals tailored to diverse communication channels.
- Act as the driving force in visual execution on dedicated client projects, ensuring quality control throughout the process.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate closely with team members and external partners.
- Mentor teams in commercial art principles, nurturing strategic and creative thinking while fostering a collaborative environment.
- Cultivate a respectful and trusting workplace that values humility and creates comfort for all team members.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies, sharing relevant insights and inspiring new creative ideas.
- Demonstrate proficiency in industry-standard design software.
- Uphold recognition for creative, impactful solutions rooted in conceptual and strategic thinking.
- Manage project timelines to ensure timely delivery of high-quality creative assets.
- Conduct visual research and stay updated on trends in design, branding, and media to continuously enhance creative output.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven track record as an Art Director with 5+ years of experience in an agency, freelance, or client-side environment, with a background in working with brands across various categories, both locally and internationally.
- Conceptually strong, with a talent for landing unexpected ideas and shaping them into compelling concepts that bring fresh thinking to the team.
- Strong visual skills and expertise in industry-standard design tools (e.g., Adobe Suite including After Effects, Figma, and video editing tools).
- Experience in developing and executing visual concepts and campaigns for omnichannel marketing and advertising.
- Holistic view of communication and a solid understanding of brands and branding, with the ability to see the big picture and think conceptually.
- Advantageous: strong portfolio examples in digital environments and motion graphics.
- Analytical and presentation skills, with the ability to swiftly translate them into project documents and presentations.
- Solution-oriented and flexible, with an eye for new opportunities.
- Passionate about the creative industries, with a keen knowledge of current trends.
- Fluent in both written and spoken Swedish and English.
This is a permanent position with a 6-month probation period. Employment will start according to agreement. We look forward to receiving your application!
